Family Foundation sons entering the mentoring program receive academic evaluations to determine the necessary resources they will need to fulfill their educational requirements. There are a number of Christian Schools that partner with the Family Foundation Fund the offer accelerated and specialized programs.
Our Fatherhood Training Program equips men to be successful, Christian fathers through seminars, mini-conferences and instructional materials. Training sessions are hosted at local churches and community organizations. Four training conferences were held in 2007 and numerous DVDs and books were given to the community.

In conjunction with our organic healthy food source at Son Farm, we offer a workshop entitled, “Get Healthy Stay Balanced” to the mothers of the Foundation sons in our program. According to Children’s Health Fund Research, childhood obesity doubled during the years between 1980 to 2000 in children ages 6-11, and tripled in adolescents ages 12-19. The associated health conditions of childhood obesity are type 2 diabetes and hypertension. African-American and Hispanic children are disproportionately affected by these diseases.
Our Son Camp is a two-week experience which the FFF sons are able to work on our Son Farm; exercise every morning; learn about healthy living; engage in recreational activities; and participate in a comprehensive reading program.
Since 1996, Son Camp is designed to be the most challenging component of the summer mentoring program. The younger FFF sons are placed on teams with veteran FFF sons as team captains. The captains are responsible for the success of those that they are leading. The parallel lesson is that a father is responsible for the care and protection of his family. The younger sons understand that the veterans have been in the program for several years and know the objectives.
Our Son Farm is an educational garden for the young men which teaches them to grow food in rich soil using low-cost tools, materials, and simple, organic techniques. In the face of obesity, alienation from the land, and spiritual poverty, we seek through gardening to preserve the health of our bodies, restore our place of creation stewardship, and instill the spiritual principles that present themselves through the practice of growing fruits and vegetables using natural methods. This is also an opportunity for you, your children or grandchildren to work (as volunteers) at the farm together and you can pick your own blackberries, strawberries or melons (according to the season).
